Patterns that carried meaning

Lilac geometric Ọnwa halter maxi dress
Binye SS27 editorial, London

Our story begins with patterns that were never simply beautiful designs. They carried meanings, messages and codes, expressing identity, strength, heritage and survival.

From the bronze casting of ancient Igbo-Ukwu to evidence of trade reaching far beyond West Africa as early as the 9th century, the Igbo people have a long legacy of craftsmanship and global connection. That legacy is the starting point for every Binye piece.

We believe tradition should not be left in the past. It can be reimagined through exceptional craftsmanship, worn with confidence and shared with the world.
